Our Story
Founded in 2018 by Ethiopian professionals, Bio-Safe Biofertilizer Manufacturing (BBM) is a locally owned enterprise dedicated to producing and distributing bio-fertilizers tailored for major legume crops such as Faba Bean, Field Pea, Chick Pea, Lentil, Haricot Bean, and Soy Bean.
Located in Addis Ababa’s Addis Ketema sub-city, Wereda 14, the company was established following a thorough feasibility study and the acquisition of necessary trade permits.
Our Mission
Biosafe aims to become the leading bio-fertilizer producer in Ethiopia, striving to reach all grain legume farmers nationwide with effective inoculants.
Currently, the company has the capacity to produce biofertilizers sufficient for 100,000 smallholding farmers, covering approximately 25,000 hectares of land.
Production and Team
Led by an experienced microbiologist, the production section is supported by a team of three BSc graduates and three certificate holders, ensuring high-quality output. Additionally, BBM employs seasonal laborers during peak production times to meet growing demands..

Achievements
In its first year, Bio-Safe produced 30,000 packets of inoculants (each weighing 125 grams) and successfully distributed half of these across three major regions: Oromia, Amhara, and SNNP, at a price of 40 Birr each. Today, BBM is on track to operate at full capacity, aiming to produce 100,000 packets to support even more farmers.
