On June 28–29, in Jimma City at the SYF Hotel, CASA Ethiopia and BBM teams held a joint review meeting on the progress of inoculant demand collection for soybean production at Jimma town. CASA Ethiopia has been supporting BBM’s soybean demand collection in these high-potential cultivation areas by providing 17 mobile phones to facilitate the process.
To make demand collection easier and create job opportunities, selected youth and agro-dealers have been engaged in the collection and distribution of soybean biofertilizer in the zones. The review meeting brought together key stakeholders, including woreda agriculture office leaders, soil fertility experts, youth representatives, and agro-dealers.
The review workshop was managed by BBM and CASA Ethiopia team from Addis Ababa and Zonal coordination offices. During the review, participants examined demand collection data from the digital system, recognizing those who achieved outstanding results and identifying areas for improvement. Experiences were shared, challenges discussed, and solutions provided. The teams also agreed that inoculant distribution should be carried out via the digital system to improve efficiency. All stakeholders expressed their commitment to performing even better in the future.
